Abel Licón

I like building useful things with smart people.

I have spent 16 years working across life sciences, bioinformatics, software engineering, data science, molecular diagnostics, product development, and intellectual property. I have helped take diagnostics products from inception to commercial launch and have also built the software, data, and scientific systems around them.

I love agentic AI because it can give great teams more leverage. The interesting part is not the technology by itself. It is helping talented people move through information, repetitive work, software, and organizational friction faster so more attention can go to the assay, the product, and the patient.

Useful AI Life Sciences is intentionally small and principal-led. I work directly with leadership to cut through the AI buzz, find the few opportunities that actually matter, and help teams move on them with discipline.

What I want to enable

More time for the work that makes your company special.

I want AI to help great life sciences teams move faster on innovative diagnostics, assays, and products without burying them in another layer of technology or process.
