About / Abel Licón

I like building useful things
with smart people.

The most exciting part of AI is what it opens up for people who already know their science. I help teams turn that possibility into work that advances the product.

I’ve spent 16 years building computational R&D, software, and molecular diagnostics products. My perspective comes from working across the assay, the code, the team, and the evidence needed to bring a product to market.

I value what difficult projects have taught me: ask the right question early, keep the system understandable, and give people the tools and judgment to carry the work forward. Those lessons make me optimistic about what a focused team can do.

Useful AI Life Sciences is intentionally small. You work directly with me, from the initial question through the technical and organizational decisions that follow.
